HIV Awareness

December 2–6, 2024

The Department of Health (DOH) and the World Health Organization (WHO) are working together to raise HIV awareness. In line with this, Adamson University – Senior High School Red Cross Youth Council is united in the global fight against HIV/AIDS. We aim to educate the public on prevention, testing, and treatment, ensuring a healthier future for all. Thus, distributing red ribbons to everyone will help raise awareness, reduce stigma and promote understanding of HIV/AIDS.

First Investiture

November 08, 2024

The first investiture of Adamson University – Senior High School Red Cross Youth Council (AdU-SHS RCYC) happened last November 8, 2024. Ms. Ma. Concepcion Tecson was the guest speaker. She shared her wisdom about being a member of RCYC. The highlight of this event was the tying of bandages by Ms. Nikki Matibag, Ms. Mae Ann Bardaje, Ms. Ma. Concepcion Tecson and Ms. Liwanag Nuque, as this symbolizes being an official Red Cross Youth.

Junior First Aider Program

October 18, 2024

The Junior First Aider Program (JFAP) successfully commenced at the Adamson University Student Government Hall last October 18, 2024. Participation in this event was exclusive for MAAB ID holders. The notable guest speakers were: Ms. Lessley C. Beaño, MP.E, Ms. Fiona Mary A. Danganan, Mr. Jefferson F. Dacut, and Ms. Liwanag J. Nuque, all of whom, helped our members learn the history of the Red Cross organization and train them in basic first aid techniques such as proper bandaging and CPR. This marks the first training event of Adamson University – Senior High School Red Cross Youth Council (AdU-SHS RCYC). And with that, it seems that our volunteers are ready for action when someone is in an emergency.

Semicolon; Fostering Social Action and Awareness for Suicide Prevention

October 11, 2024

In honor of mental health awareness, a seminar was held by Adamson University – Concerned Adamsonians for Responsible and Empathetic Support (@AdU-CARES), in collaboration with the Office for Student Affairs last October 11, 2024, at the OZ AVR. Mark Daniel Velasco was the appointed Adamson University – Senior High School Red Cross Youth Council (AdU-SHS RCYC) representative to attend this event on behalf of the organization. The semicolon sign used as the centerpiece for this occasion, symbolizing the hope of those who have/are struggling mentally; to continue living a life of fortitude despite all odds. May this be marked as a reminder for us all to keep pushing through. Always take a pause when you need to, but don’t quit. It isn’t your time yet.

Lead4Life

October 10, 2024

Several Adamson – Senior High School Red Cross Youth Council (AdU-SHS) Officers attended the Lead4Life Leadership training held last October 10, 2024 at the Co Po Ty Hall. This was notably the first ever leadership training coordinated for the senior high school department. What’s more, a seminar commenced as a part of this event, wherein knowledgeable speakers were able to share their wisdom regarding what being a servant leader is to our ambitious student leaders. Breakout sessions also took place as a part of the training, to prime the participants on how to further develop their skills that they need to manage as the officers of their organization. On behalf of the entire AdU-SHS RCYC Organization, we thank those who helped coordinate and take part in this event. As without them, this event would not be a success and accomplish its goal to enlighten our student leaders.

13th Council Management Training

October 5–6, 2024

On October 5–6, 2024, advisers and coordinators of Red Cross Youth Councils from various schools gathered for the 13th Council Management Training. Throughout this enlightening program, participants were immersed in the rich history of the Philippine Red Cross, exploring its vision, mission, goals, and core activities. The training also provided invaluable guidance on how to effectively manage the organization and nurture its members. It was a truly fulfilling experience, offering not only a deeper understanding of one’s role as an adviser, but also the opportunity to connect with fellow advisers. The event served as a meaningful step toward strengthening our collective ability to support and empower the Red Cross Youth, furthering the impact of the Philippine Red Cross in our communities.

Red-efining Leadership: Building a Culture of Ethical Excellence​

There is no doubt that, every step of the way, we strive to be the best version of ourselves. The falcon volunteers made their initial point to commit to humanitarian principles last August 25, 2024 as they attended an event entitled “Red-efining Leadership: Building a Culture of Ethical Excellence” that was organized by the Manila Red Cross Youth. They were able to gain numerous insights and partake in the seminar. Certainly, it nurtured and motivated them to be better leaders and be of service to everyone. Furthermore, they would like to thank and applaud the event coordinators and the resource speakers, Mr. Krish Rainjit Salas and Mr. JP Lagado, for having a fruitful discussion.

History of the organization and the roles and responsibility of an adviser was briefly introduced.

Organization Fair​

August 08, 2024

Last August 8, 2024, the membership drive for all organizations of Senior High School was opened. The Red Cross Youth Council booth offered photobooth and games with prizes. A stamp is given to students who have visited the booth.
